Why NYLON

 

The CONCEPT:

behind the name is that nylon - being the most widely spread material nowadays - consciously or subconsciously influences our lives the most. Nylon surrounds us, nylon is everywhere, nylon has many forms, nylon has many states, nylon is cheap, nylon can be beautiful, nylon can be dangerous and most of all nylon is suitable for creation.

The exhibitions will propose various art-media and they will be the answer of young dynamic art-groups to a given question on social issues worldwide.

   

 

  
WHERE
 The place is the most vibrant summer-place of Istanbul, Ortakioy. The three-floor building of a total coverage of 750sqm, right on the sea side, will be the Artogether's "multi-art-lab".

The building will house:

•The R2gether multinational artists' studios

• "The Nylon Gallery", an avant-garde exhibition hall

• The "Arterrace", an artistic cafe-exhibition area

WHO

The "R2gether" studios will receive artists from different countries that will stay and work during 1 month period in Istanbul.

Their work will concern specific aspects of the Istanbul reality that they will record and will reproduce with their own way.

The foreign artists will be framed by Turkish art-students that will be provided by the local art-universities and will help artists to socialize in Istanbul.
